There is so much going on this week that almost wondered whether I should write out about it all, worried it would seem to focussed on promotion and not sharing interesting history.
But then I thought - “well this is sharing history” and much of it actually for free, or at a low cost. So, here is what is on offer to you this week :-)

Henry VIII’s Divorce and the Sack of Rome 1527
A few weeks ago I decided that I would like to cover Henry VIII’s divorce from Katherine of Aragon on my BritishHistory Live show (every other Monday at 6:30pm UK time). Specifically the petition sent to Pope Clement VII from Henry VIII, int he context of what was going on in Rome at the same time.
As I looked further into the topic, I saw much more context that I saw as relevant and wanted to cover. So, what was originally going to be a 1 episode topic has turned into a 3 part mini series.
Part 1 | Looked at the events running up to May 1527 which led to 20,000 desperate and bloodthirsty Imperial troops turning up at the walls of Rome.

Part 2 | The Sack of Rome - I covered how Rome tried to prepared itself for attack, how the Imperial army got into Rome and what happened when they did. This was a tough but important event to cover.

Join me for Part 3 when I cover what was going on in England and the court of Henry VIII and put it all together. Click Here to set a reminder.
